Also the ball physics in Pinball Arcade do not seem quite right. Also, there is no cumulative score or average ranking leaderboard across all of the tables while this is not essential, I find it to be a fun feature of Pinball FX2. Pinball Arcade needs more camera view options as well, and it would be nice to be able to see your friends ranking/position on the global leaderboard in addition to their actual high scores. However, Pinball Arcade is missing many great features that Zen has put into Pinball FX2, such as the online multiplayer score race mode. However, Pinball Arcade If you are a pinball fan, this is a must buy just for the faithfulness with which these tables have been recreated. A German beer commercial states "Germans don't do comedy Germans make good beer." Whatever else Sweden is good at I'm not sure that Sweden "does good pinball. If you are a pinball fan, this is a must buy just for the faithfulness with which these tables have been recreated.

Sweden-based software companies make good rally racing games. I actually find that pinball game fun and interesting.

To put it in perspective, I spend HOURS.yes, that's right HOURS on the Microsoft pinball game that came free with my Windows XP system. Easily the most boring pinball game I've ever sampled. My visual pinball tables from the '50s make use of more and better sound effects.

Very disappointingly the game makes use of very few sound effects also. Simply put the action is incredibly monotonous and drab. There's nothing on either of the three tables that will keep a rally going whatsoever. Launch the ball, the ball comes quickly at the flippers, keep the ball in play and within a second or two -after it enters and exits a ramp- hit the ball again. A lack of bumpers and many other features (that are present even in a plethora of shareware pinball games) translated into the most monotonous, boring gameplay I've ever encountered in any pinball game. The three pinball tables' graphics had plenty of eyecandy and looked like fairly complex, entertaining designs. It only took me less than a minute to realize how drab and incredibly boring the gameplay was and quickly exit the game and uninstall it. There are three tables.and I spent less than a minute on each one. There were ample video options (though no options to change control mappings) and in-game camera angles (12 to be exact). The main menu techno pop music was superbly rendered and very cool sounding and fit the game well. On the back of the Pure Pinball box is a quote from an Adrenaline Vault review which reads: "Go out and get this will keep you occupied for a long, long time." Maybe 5 minutes qualifies as a "long time" in some people's terminology but in my definition a long time is more akin to weeks or months -not minutes. I read one or two reviews and decided to purchase it since it's a newer game and from what I could tell had all of the Direct X9 graphics and bells and whistles. I more recently came across Pure Pinball listed here at Gamespot. Strangely enough, though I grew up in the '80s the pinball tables from earlier decades really had a nostalgic quality whilst I didn't like any of the '80s tables whatsoever. They are replicated in 3D, recreated very, very authentically and have a classic jukebox feel. I hadn't come across any good newer demos or games except for the freeware "Visual Pinball" which has the most authentic pinball table recreations I've ever seen -recreated by various authors who have replicated actual tables from the '40s, '50s, '60s, '70s, and '80s.

For some odd reason, very recently I began to get into PC pinball games again. I had sampled some good pinball games in the mid '90s only. It's a good thing because it's not worth wasting any time to review this drivel. By AEnzhRu | Review Date: MaGamespot currently doesn't have a review for this fairly new pinball game.
